Today I went on a walk with the fun professor through some of the lesser-known, but still entirely cool, parts of London. We saw the huge monument erected to commemorate the devastating fire of 1666; Southwark ( suthuk) Cathedral, where Shakespeare would have attended services while he was in London (assuming he did attend); and the site of the Tabard Inn, where Chaucer's characters gathered to tell the Canterbury Tales.

My favorite place was Borough Market, a completely untouristy market with fresh game like wild rabbit and venison, "Real Scottish Food", mozzarella di bufala, beautiful cheap bread that I can't eat, all kinds of sausages, fresh vegetables galore, etc.
